This article reviews the workflow between National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and Overgrad. NSC report is an add on available to all Overgrad Access and/or Success customers. Please connect with an Overgrad rep to learn more.

Partnership Overview 


1. License Add-On

  • Customers can add an NSC License to their existing contract for $595. One license covers reporting for one high school. Licenses should be renewed annually. Note: Cost of NSC licenses may be subject to change based on any alumni feature updates made to Overgrad. We’ll be sure to communicate any and all changes to customers.
  • Benefits of NSC licensing with Overgrad include:
    • Streamlined alumni file formatting, processing, and record keeping managed by the Overgrad team
    • Customer support for reviewing alumni data
    • All communication happens directly through and with the Overgrad team


2. Alumni Report Submission

  • Report Submission
    • The Overgrad Customer Success team will pull and submit alumni records to NSC in September. 
  • Data Accuracy
    • Prior to files being submitted, we recommend updating key student information in Overgrad like student's first and last name and date of birth (DOB). Keep in mind that NSC is not able to successfully process records for names with any special characters in names including quotes, periods, commas, or parentheses.


3. Processed Reports

  • NSC only provides alumni enrollment data 3 times per year, late Fall (November), Spring (by April), and Summer (late August). 
  • For Overgrad Success customers:
    • All reports are uploaded directly into Overgrad to update alumni enrollment records 
    • Success customers are able to use the NSC Reconciliation features to to view, reconcile, and export enrollment data
  • For Overgrad Access (9-12) only customers:
    • Once NSC sends all processed files to Overgrad, the school counselor or administrator will receive the school's files with abbreviated instructions for understanding the data via email


4. Ongoing Support 

  • Overgrad will:
    • help address any issues with getting the file processed directly with National Student Clearinghouse 
    • communicate via email with the school counselor or administrator when files have been received 
  • The Overgrad Customer Success Team is also available to meet with the school counselor to review the data provided.
