NSC reconciliation allows educators to resolve conflicts between manual and NSC enrollment data. A conflict occurs when an NSC record is uploaded and conflicts with any of the following fields of a manual enrollment record for the same student and term:

  • Institution
  • Enrollment Status
  • Graduation Status

If there is a mismatch in exact enrollment dates or degree details, a conflict will not occur, so long as the above fields match. When a conflict is flagged, you may reconcile the conflicting records to determine which data should be displayed. The manual data will remain displayed until you reconcile the records.

If an NSC record is uploaded and matches a manual record according to the above fields, the manual record will be marked as "verified by NSC". Click here to learn more about navigating the NSC Reconciliation page in Overgrad.

There are two ways to reconcile enrollment records: from the individual student enrollment table and the NSC Reconciliation page.

Reconciling from the Individual Student Enrollment Table

You can reconcile records for individual students from the alumni overview. First, find the student and click on the Enrollments table; if there are conflicting records, an error symbol will show in the table:

Click the Reconcile Records button to resolve the errors:

Select information from a single record using the check box to the left of the table, or select fields from different records within the table

Once you've selected the correct fields and added a note, if needed, click the Update Record button:

Reconciling from the NSC Reconciliation Page

You can also view and reconcile multiple errors at once from the NSC Reconciliation page. First, navigate to the NSC Reconciliation Page from the Data & Reports dropdown menu:

Next, click on the blue Reconcile button in the unresolved conflicts box at the top of the Reconciliation Summary tab

Click the open checkbox at the top left corner of the table

then select Reconcile records from the ... menu

Use the popup window to select specific fields for each record, either all from the same source or fields from different sources:

If information matches between two records with otherwise mismatched data, that field is not selectable during reconciliation

Click the Update Record button to complete the reconciliation and move on to the next error
