What Is a Final Report?

A Final Report is a document counselors submit to confirm that a student has graduated from high school. It includes the student's final transcript and end-of-year senior grades, and serves as official confirmation that the student has earned their diploma and is eligible to enroll.

Final Reports are only required for schools a student applied to through Common App. The Final Report bundles the transcript together with additional counselor context about the student's academic standing. The Final Transcript is the standalone official academic record from your school, requested by colleges that do not use the Common App.

Because the Final Report is tied to enrollment, it only needs to be sent to the school the student is actually attending — not to every school they applied to.

Generating a Final Report Request

Overgrad generates a Final report Request once the school that a student will be attending has been marked as Enrolled. There are two ways this can happen:

From the Applications List

You or the student can mark a school as Enrolled directly from the student's application list. See Adding and Updating College Applications for step-by-step instructions.

Via the Senior Survey

Students can also indicate their Enrolled school by completing the Senior Survey. Once a student submits the survey with an enrollment choice, Overgrad uses that to trigger the final report automatically. See Completing Your Senior Survey for more information.

Note: If neither of these steps has been completed for a student, a Final report will not be automatically generated for them.

Attaching a Final Report Manually

In some cases you may need to send a final report to a school that is not marked as Enrolled — for example, if a student's plans changed after the enrollment deadline. You can do this by attaching a document directly.

  1. Navigate to the Applications section of a the student's page.
  2. Find the application you need to send a final report for.
  3. Click Application Details for to that application.
  4. Scroll down to Application Documents and select Attach Document to add the Final Report.

Finding Requests in the Application Manager

Once enrollment is marked and Final Report requests are available, you can view and manage them all from the Application Manager.

  1. From the top navigation bar, click Application Manager > Manage Documents.
  2. Use the Document Types filter and select Final Report to see only final report requests.
  3. Click the ellipsis (...) next to the application document record to Complete Form.
