Please contact Natalie Slocum at nslocum@nxueducation.org to discuss options.

Who should attend Kickoff Training?

nXu highly recommends that all new-to-nXu direct implementers of the nXu curriculum attend this kickoff training.

Is Kickoff Training required?

Kickoff Training is not required, but it is highly recommended for all educators who are new to implementing nXu. The training provides the foundation you'll need to confidently facilitate the curriculum, navigate the Overgrad platform, and prepare for a successful implementation.

Format & Scheduling

What is the format and length of Kickoff Training?

Kickoff Training is a live, virtual training conducted on Zoom. The session is 2 hours long and is designed to be interactive, giving educators the opportunity to experience nXu, learn implementation best practices, and ask questions along the way.

Content

What will we learn?

Kickoff Training is designed to prepare you to confidently implement the nXu Curriculum. During the session, you'll:

  • Experience the core concepts of purpose development through interactive activities.

  • Explore the nXu Curriculum and learn how it supports purpose, durable skills, and wellbeing.

  • Learn how to access and navigate nXu resources in Overgrad.

  • Discover best practices for preparing, personalizing, and facilitating nXu lessons using our Teach for Transformation approach.

  • Develop an implementation vision for your classroom and understand the key next steps for a successful launch.

Will we leave ready to teach?

Yes! Kickoff Training is designed to prepare you to confidently begin implementing the nXu Curriculum. By the end of the session, you'll understand the purpose behind the curriculum, know how to navigate the resources on Overgrad, and be equipped with the tools and best practices needed to facilitate your first lessons. Before teaching, be sure to connect with your school or organization's nXu liaison to understand your implementation plan, including your Scope & Sequence and which lessons you'll be using. Once you've done that, you'll be ready to get started.

Will we learn to use Overgrad during Training?

Yes. Kickoff Training includes an overview of the Overgrad features you'll use to access and implement the nXu Curriculum, including how to navigate the nXu library and locate lesson materials. The training focuses specifically on the Overgrad functionality that supports nXu implementation and does not cover other Overgrad features unrelated to nXu.

School Logistics

Should our entire team attend together?

Your staff can join different trainings depending on their unique scheduling preferences.

Can non-nXu implementers attend training?

Absolutely! We welcome anyone involved in supporting your school's nXu implementation, including direct implementers, school liaisons, administrators, counselors, and other supporting educators. While the training is designed primarily for educators who will be facilitating the nXu Curriculum with students, others are encouraged to attend to better understand the program and support successful implementation.

What if we hire new staff mid-year?

New staff are welcome to join Kickoff Training at any point during the school year. Check the current training schedule to register for an upcoming session. If there are no future sessions available, please contact Natalie Slocum at nslocum@nxueducation.org to discuss options.

Do I need to attend the whole two-hour training?

Yes. We strongly encourage participants to attend the full two-hour session. Kickoff Training is designed as a complete experience, with each section building on the last to prepare you for successful implementation. Attending the entire session ensures you'll gain the full context, instructional strategies, and practical guidance needed to confidently begin teaching the nXu Curriculum.
