This article reviews how students can request college application fee waivers for applications directly to the college and/or applications through the Common App integration.

For non-Common App applications 

Follow these instructions to request fee waivers for schools to which you have indicate as applying directly or any option that is not via the Common App  

  • Log into your student Overgrad Account 
  • Using the top menu options, navigate to Applications > View Applications
  • Find and click on the college(s) you are requesting a fee waiver for 
  • Under the "Applications Documents" table at the bottom of the page, select Attach a Document 
    • in the pop up screen, you'll select the document you are requesting (ex: Fee Waiver)
    • click the blue "Attach or Request" button 


For applications via the Common App 

Follow these instructions to request fee waivers for schools to which you have indicate as applying using the Common App. To successfully request any and all documents, be sure to successfully link your Common App account to Overgrad (see support article here). 

  • Log onto your Common App account 
  • When filling out your Common App, pay close attention to the section titled "Common App Fee Waiver" under the Profile section of the general application 
    • in order to successfully request a fee waiver, you'll want to make sure you answer all relevant questions under this section 

  • Once you've completed this section, you'll want to make sure you finish and submit each of your college-specific application materials. Be sure to respond to any specific feee waiver questions here too. 
  • Once you sign and submit your application to a college, your fee waiver will automatically be requested on Overgrad!
